Jesus sent his disciples into the storm not to punish them but to reveal himself more fully to them. It was in the presence of their Lord that the wind ceased upon the sea. In the midst of the storm they feared for their lives, but in the presence of Jesus they worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Voiding the Word
In an age of relativism in which we are inundated with voices that say one thing but mean something else, in an age of skepticism in which truth is considered an abstract ideal rather than a living reality, we know the truth for God has spoken in his Word.
True Rest
Worldly wisdom touts freedom from the shackles of Christianity, liberty from religious conformity. But to those children to whom the truth has been revealed, we know the yoke of Christ to be easy and His burden light.
True Bread from Heaven
We cannot, indeed we will not, find the spiritual food we need. In our fallen depravity, we are utterly dependent upon the Lord’s provision.
Then to the Gentile
We are not reconciled to a holy and just God by our ethnicity, family, or good works. But, by God’s grace we believe in the divinely-chosen Servant, the soul-pleasing Beloved, the multi-national justice Preacher, the unbroken bruised Reed, the quenchless smoldering Wick, the justice-delivering Victor, our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord.
The Purpose of Parables
Therefore, the purpose of Jesus’ parables is less in the story told but of whom the story tells. He is the central theme of every parable, a truth understood only by receiving the gift of saving knowledge in Him.
The Peace of Christ
How certain can we be that this heavenly peace is ours forever? Such certainty is rooted in the sovereign grace of God who foreordained our salvation effectually calling us, justifying us, and one day glorifying us for eternity (Rom. 8:29-30).
The Greatest Sign
Every Lord’s Day, on the first day of the week, we acknowledge the greatest of signs, worshiping our risen Savior. For everyone looking for a sign, here it is: He is risen; He is risen indeed! Every Lord’s Day we gather to worship Christ through the signs and wonders of His ordinary means of grace: The reading, singing, and preaching of the holy Scriptures; the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper; and, the prayers of the saints assembled.
The Great Physician
The Christian life then is a life lived out in full confidence in our Great Physician. Though you may not always feel healthy and whole, though you may see evidence of the disease of sin, trust in the Keeper and Perfecter of your soul.
