And so, we look back to all the saints before and after the cross, saved sinners every one of them, encouraged to see the consistent faithfulness of God’s saving and sustaining grace, to our heritage of faith. But we do not let our eyes rest too long upon the recipients of God’s saving favor but to their Savior and ours, who having secured redemption for God’s elect is now seated in the place of heavenly honor “at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb. 12:2): “to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen” (Jude 25).

When the End Begins
Brothers and sisters, stop living in fear and start praying for souls. Stop consuming all that bad news and start sharing the Good News. Stop critiquing your neighbors’ politics and start telling them about Christ’s kingdom. Because, we have not yet reached the end, so look and “see that the fields are white for harvest” (John 4:35).
When God Dwells
Through faith in Christ, Jew and Gentile alike are united into one holy temple, built living stone upon living stone. And it is in Christ alone that we are “built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit” (Eph. 2:14-22).
Like a Child
Like the sweetness of a bedtime kiss, our heavenly Father has blessed us with the presence of his Spirit and the promise of his love. Living like a child, let us remember that there is nothing in all of God’s creation that can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom. 8:39).
In Christ Alone
This is indeed the mountain top air that we breath: Freedom in Christ! And “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).
The Glory of God Revealed
By his Spirit and through his Word, we behold the glory of God. He is gloriously revealed to us through his written Word, shown to us by the illumination of his Spirit, and given to us that we too may worship him in his majesty, honor, and glory.
